It’s SCA time again! Lots of parties, new products to check out, and things to learn. Here are my plans for one of the biggest specialty coffee gatherings of the year.

Thursday

For the third year in a row, Michelle will be hosting her Chocolate Barista party. It’s always a fun, casual time and a great way to network with people before you go into the show floor.

Friday

In the morning, I’ll be one of the Design Lab judges for packaging and vessels. And at night, I’m hoping to make it to The Barista League’s event.

Saturday

I’m hosting my own Game Night for the third year in a row! The Facebook event page is here.

This is a free event, open to all attendees of SCA Expo and the greater Boston specialty coffee community.

Casually network with your fellow coffee professionals while playing a board game at Pavement Coffeehouse (Brighton location- roastery + HQ)! This is a laid-back, chill environment.

Soft drink refreshments and plant-based snacks generously provided by Sprudge.
Games are donated by Nathanael May: If you like what you’re playing, take it home with you!

BYOBooze. You must be 21+ to drink alcohol.
BYOG (game). Optional. Pack a board game in your luggage! If you bring your own game, you are responsible for picking it up before you leave.

Timeline:
6 pm is the start time, it’s an open event, just join a table or form your own when you arrive.

  • Feel free to post about which games you’re bringing!
  • Event policy: This is a harassment-free zone. We do not tolerate harassment of any kind and will ask you to stop and/or leave when it’s brought to our attention. http://confcodeofconduct.com/
  • Pavement is wheelchair accessible

What this event will NOT have: loud music, a keg, a DJ, poker (not that kind of game night).

Sunday

I’m hoping to attend the “Ask me about the cost of production event.” Event link here.

In General

I will be in and out of Acaia’s two booths (#899 on the show floor & M16 in the Market area).
